The states you select are your licensure claim, and only those states are matched to you. Every firm is reviewed by hand before it is approved.

You have a response cadence
You set your response time — 24 hours by default — and you commit to it. Miss it and the person is invited to choose another firm.

You are professionally responsible
Every inquiry you receive is from a real person with a stated problem. We expect professionalism and courtesy — and your own due diligence on verifying stated facts, engagement details and conflict checks.

What does it cost to find out if this works?
Nothing. There is no subscription and no setup fee, and your first 3 leads after approval are free — you keep any client that comes out of them. After that you pay per lead, only when you send a real first reply. If it is not working, switch your availability off or close the account. No contract, no notice period, no exit fee.
What is the founding firm discount, exactly?
Firms that join during the founding window get 30% off every lead, on top of the first 3 being free. It is not an introductory rate that expires — it holds for as long as your firm stays on Legalbit, including through any future change to our standard pricing. Firms that sign up after the window pay the standard rate. Ask us and we will tell you the per-lead price for your practice areas, so you can work out exactly what it is worth.
Will another firm get the same lead?
Not at the same time. Each lead is held by exactly one firm. If that firm declines it or lets its response deadline lapse, the person is invited to choose another firm — but there is never a moment where two firms are racing each other for the same person.
What happens if we miss a response deadline?
We warn you at 75% of your deadline and grant one extension automatically. If it still lapses, the lead is released and the person is invited to choose another firm — and your responsiveness, which feeds matching, takes the hit. You are never charged for a lead you did not answer.
When are we actually billed?
On your first reply, and only then. Receiving a lead is free, reading the summary and the full transcript is free, and declining is free. The reply is the single billing event in the whole system, and it is the same moment the person’s name and contact details unlock for you.
How do you handle people’s data?
Personal information is encrypted before it is stored and access is enforced at the database level, not just in the interface. Intake descriptions are deleted automatically after 30 days. We do not sell data, and we do not share the people who use Legalbit with other firms.
